After request of a group of our friends in the area, Dr. Soroush is going to deliver a lecture about the Event of Karbala in this month of Muharram.


Here are the details:

There is no lecture on Sunday Dec. 7th.

Please see the following note sent by the Iranian Cultural Society (ICS) of the GW University for more details:

Unfortunately, the lecture on Hafiz poetry scheduled for this Sunday December 7th has been canceled. Instead, we will be holding the following "A Fresh Look on Hafiz" lectures on Sunday December 14th and Sunday December 21st. The lectures will continue to be held in the Marvin Center, 800 21st St., NW, Washington D.C., 20052, but the location and time for these events have been changed.

The lectures will now be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Room 310.

We are sorry if any of these changes are inconvenient for you. We hope to see you there!

New Lecture Series: A Fresh Look on Hafiz

The Iranian Cultural Society at the George Washington University will be
holding a series of lectures presented by Dr. Abdul Karim Soroush entitled
"A Fresh Look on Hafiz". 

The series will consist of four lectures in the coming weeks.

The first lecture was held on Friday, Nov. 14th at the George Washington University (Washington, DC) and three more lectures will be held in the coming weeks. We will inform you of the dates and locations of the next lectures as soon as we get the details.

These lectures are in Persian.

The second lecture sereis by Dr. Soroush in MD is held at UMD, College Park during Ramadan 2008 . This series of three lectures is about "Fasting and Ramadan in the Poetry of Rumi and Hafiz".
